Army Squash Governance

President's Message

As President of Army Squash, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website; I hope it will provide you with a useful and interesting insight into who we are and what we do.

The role of AS is to inspire, govern and manage all squash activity within the British Army.  At grass roots level, we are well supported by enthusiastic and committed corps committees and unit team captains; at the elite level, we represent the Army within the UK Armed Force Squash Community.  We also work closely with various partners and sponsors to ensure that we provide the best opportunities for Army squash players of all standards to participate and develop.

If you would like to get involved in Army squash as a player, supporter, or partner, we would love to hear from you; please contact me personally on 01980 615401.

Lieutenant General Tyrone Urch CBE

ASRA President

Committee

AS is governed by a committee of 14 members; key appointments include the President, Chairman, Secretary, Team Captains, Development Officer, and Head Official (a full list can be found under the 'Home' tab).  All members of the Committee, less the secretary and assistant secretary, are serving soldiers who commit their time and energy to AS alongside their day jobs.  Together, the committee is responsible for delivering AS's aims.

Aims

All members of AS commit to:

Inspire the next generation of Army squash players.

Promote squash at all levels of the Army.

Maximise squash talent within the four Army teams.

Compete at the highest level of military and civilian squash.

Deliver sound and transparent governance.

Lead the way within the UKAF squash community.

Train the next generation of coaches and officials.

If you would like to read more about our governance, structure and policies, please see the AS Strategy Plan, the AS Business Plan and our Charter.
